Responsible AI Commitments

Last updated: 2026-05-22

Our Position

Pernicia helps organizations build and deploy AI systems in regulated environments. With this comes responsibility — to our clients, to the people affected by these systems, and to the broader ecosystem. These commitments guide how we work.

Data Handling

Client data is never used to train our models or external models.

Data you share with us during engagements is used solely for that engagement. We do not aggregate client data for model training, sell data to third parties, or use client information to develop products that benefit other clients without explicit consent.

Model Attribution

Model attribution is clear in all deliverables.

When we build systems that use AI models, we document which models are used, their versions, their known limitations, and their licensing terms. You will always know what is powering your system.

Evaluation and Testing

Evaluation suites are disclosed.

Every AI system we build comes with an evaluation suite. We document what we test, how we test it, and the results. You will know the boundaries of system performance, not just the happy path.

Governance Documentation

Governance documentation is part of every AI deliverable.

We provide model cards, risk assessments, and operational runbooks. These documents are designed to be useful — for your team, for auditors, and for stakeholders who need to understand what the system does and does not do.

Scope Decisions

We decline engagements where the AI use case is high-risk without adequate human oversight.

Not every AI application should be built. We will not help build systems that make consequential decisions about people without meaningful human review, systems designed to deceive, or systems where the risk profile exceeds the controls available.

What These Commitments Are Not

These commitments do not constitute legal advice or a guarantee of regulatory compliance. They describe how we work and what you can expect from Pernicia engagements. Specific legal and regulatory questions should be addressed with qualified counsel.
